ABOUT US Wests Info Magpie Central

Based at Ashfield Pool in Sydney's Inner West, Wests Water Polo is one of Australia's oldest and most successful clubs. We currently have 10 Mens teams in the Sydney Metropolitan competition ranging from U14's to U18's in the Juniors and from 6th Grade to 1st Grade in the Seniors. Our 1st Grade team also plays in the Australian National Water Polo League and were the 2007 Minor Premiers.

Report:
Wests Magpies will play the Victorian Tigers in tomorrow's men's Grand Final after defeating Balmain Tigers 6-3.

The first half was an incredibly tight affair, with only three goals being scored as Wests went into the break with a 2-1 lead. However Wests blew the game open in the third quarter which they won 3-0 and held onto their lead in the final quarter.

Daniel Swinnerton and Troy Delany scored two goals each for Wests while Joel Dennerley was outstanding in goals.

The game begins at 3pm, Saturday 12th April at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. Get down there in droves Magpie fans and show your support.

Congratulations to the Wests Water Polo U16's team who took out the 2008 NSW U16 Championships in Wagga recently. To make the the 9-1 victory over Sydney Uni all the sweeter, Wests went through the tournament undefeated and Wade Eames was named Player of the Tournament. Well done boys!

Wests Water Polo have finished 3rd in the 2007 Col Smee NSW U20's State Championships. After a couple of unfortunate results in the round games, Wests were squeezed out of the Gold Medal match and defeated Balmain 7-6 in the playoff for third.
